Today was Austin and Maren's first day of school, 2nd grade for Austin and kindergarten for Maren. Getting to the school requires a 10-15 minute walk through the neighborhood (with a parent at all times). Normally the school does not have this many students. This is a special time of the year where all the children from the village (children of missionary families who usually live in the village) come in for the first three weeks of school. This will happen in December and April as well. As you can see this is a small school, in fact Austin will only have one classmate after the other children return to the village with their parents. It's hard to see them growing up and going to school, but we are very thankful for the strong Christian teachers they have.
